street preaching

“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.”

—Isaiah 58:1

Our church has two ministries for you to be involved with, Street Preaching and Door Knocking—also called Visitation. Never done this before but interested in branching out in your service for the Lord Jesus Christ? No problem: we offer training for both that will prepare you to serve God in these ministries.

We preach on the street every Saturday during spring, summer, and fall at Central Park in Fredericksburg. The last Saturday of the month we go downtown Fredericksburg to street preach and tell the world how to get the free gift of salvation. Here men and women, boys and girls, hold up scripture signs that tell the way of salvation. They also pass out tracts and witness to the souls that come by. Men and boys will preach the word, when traffic has stopped, and present the gospel clearly as we contend for man’s souls.

We believe that if the lost are not willing to come to church, we should go to them. Jesus said “Go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in that my house may be filled.” (Luke 14:23) Seeing that every preacher in the Bible was a street preacher, we follow the example of Jesus and Paul as well as my Bible teachers Brian Donovan and Dr. Peter S. Ruckman. Dr. Ruckman showed me how to be faithful in this and did not cease this practice until the Lord called him home at 94.

“When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.”

—God, Ezekiel 33:8
